You don't know how fucking lucky are you to be doted by them. Think for yourself, in the past. Whenever my spelling didn't get full marks, my handwriting gets ugly, I didn't top the class, I play the whole day and didn't study, I will get beaten, or there will be no dinner/lunch for me, sometimes both. Till my whole freaking hand and leg will get all the stupid cane marks, or I will get super hungry till I have no mood to think. Also, I will get cane all the way up till when i was in secondary 2 and I will get lesser of those idiotic punishments. Every single shit I will get punished for.
